This policy explains the handling of information submitted through the MOD Digital Portal. It should be read by applicants, approved members, and visitors using the portal.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information needed to administer membership and portal services. This may include:
- Identity and contact details such as name, phone number, email address, date of birth, gender, address, state, and LGA.
- Membership details such as rank, PIN number, generated ID number, command or unit, passport photograph, and supporting documents.
- Record-support details such as blood group, height, occupation, next-of-kin information, and membership status.
- Information submitted through reservations, directorate questions, remittance records, and member support requests.
- Basic technical information needed for security, sessions, and reliable operation of the portal.
2. Why We Use Your Information
Information is used to process applications, maintain accurate membership records, generate member identity numbers and QR verification links, support council operations, respond to questions, manage reservations, record approved remittances, communicate relevant updates, and protect the security of the portal.
3. QR Verification
Approved members may receive a QR code linked to a verification page. The page should display only information required to confirm membership identity and status. Sensitive internal records and uploaded documents are not intended for public display.
4. Sharing And Service Providers
Information may be processed by authorized council administrators and trusted service providers that support hosting, email notifications, security, and approved online payment processing. Information is not sold to third parties.
5. Data Protection And Retention
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect personal information. Records are retained only for as long as needed for membership administration, legal obligations, operational needs, and legitimate record-keeping purposes.
6. Your Rights
Subject to applicable Nigerian data-protection law, you may ask whether your information is being processed, request access to your information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion where appropriate, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, request data portability where applicable, and make an enquiry or complaint about the handling of your data.

The portal may use essential cookies and session storage to keep users signed in, remember necessary preferences, and protect secure areas of the website.
